1648 M10 Self-propelled guns were delivered to Great Britain under Lend-lease program during WWII. They were nicknamed "Achilles" by the Brits. To improve their combat capabilities they were rearmed with 17-pounder gun. Two versions existed:"Achilles I" (early turret) and "Achilles II" (later turret). "Achilles II" was more common. Due to field experience armored foor was added to the turret and gun received muzzle brake. |
