BTR-152E was designed on the undercarriadge of BTR-152B for fighting of low-flying targets. The frame is made of armor, it's open, load-bearing, welded. It has anti-aircraft ring-mount setting of paired 14.5mm machine-guns. Besides machine-gun fire the soldiers had an opportunity to fire from personal weapons, through gun-slots in the boards.
