During WWII Germans accepted a new class of motorized artillery - Waffentranger (artillery carrier/tractor). Ardelt's vehicle (based on the chassis of the 38(d) with a new transmission, the Tatra-103 220 PS engine, mounting the 8.8cm PaK 43) was successfully tested in 1944 and accepted for production. Up to 20 examples were made early 1945 with at least 3 vehicles captured by a Red Army. |
