Sd.Kfz.263(8-rad) - special commander's radio car, developed from the Sd.Kfz.231 armored car before the beginning of World War II. These radio cars were intended for the coordination of mobile motorized units in action and were used in all theaters of war almost until the end of the conflict. One of the most distinguished German military leaders, Major-General (later Field-Marshal) Erwin Rommel, used a Sd.Kfz as his own staff car during the initial stages of the war. In total 240 armored car of this version were built. |
