T-44 is a soviet medium tank. It was created in 1943-1944 in the design bureau Uralvagonzavod under the leadership of Morozov and was intended to replace T-34. T-44 was the representative of new generation of tanks in the USSR.
Series production of T-44 began in 1944. After the war T-44 production continued until 1947. 1823 tank of this type were produced. T-44 was upgrated for some times and remained in service in the Soviet Army until 1970-th. |
